Award Winners!

Juniors Delaney Chuba and Isaac Gapinski have been selected as this year's Swanville High School ExCEL nominees.

The ExCEL award, which stands for excellence in community, education and leadership, is a recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, show leadership qualities and are model citizens. Every member school of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) is invited to nominate one female and one male for the ExCEL Award. Nominees must be a junior in high school, make satisfactory progress toward graduation requirements, participate in a MSHSL fine arts or athletic activity, hold a leadership position in their school and volunteer in their community.

Delaney Chuba, daughter of Michael and Tracy, has participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball. She has participated in band and theater. Delaney is a class officer and on the Student Council and has been part of numerous committees. Delaney is consistently on the ‘A’ honor roll. She spends time volunteering with the Swanville Athletic Boosters, going to nursing homes for

music, volunteering at bible school, and helping with the Swanville Carnival.

Isaac Gapinski, son of Aaron and Angie, has participated in football, basketball, baseball and trap. He has participated in band and theater. He has been a class officer and is on the band council. Isaac is consistently on the ‘A’ honor roll. Isaac spends time volunteering for the Swanville Lions Carnival, Swanville

Athletic Boosters, coaching youth sports and helping with bible school.

An independent panel of judges from schools throughout Minnesota will select the state ExCEL Award recipient in January. ExCEL winners will be recognized on KSTC-TV (Channel 45) during the upcoming winter state tournaments.

Senior Reese Jackson has been selected as this year’s Swanville High School Triple ‘A’ nominee.

The Triple ‘A’ award recognizes top high school seniors who have excelled in Academics, Arts and Athletics. Every member school of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) is invited to nominate students for the Triple ‘A’ Award that has excelled in the three categories.

Reese Jackson, daughter of Todd and Stacy, has participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball while attending Swanville High School. She has also participated in theater. She has had many leadership roles in the school also. Reese also volunteers time with a variety of community activities. Reese is consistently on the ‘A’ honor roll and has been taking college level classes and is on track to get her AA degree at the end of her senior year in high school. Her future plans are to attend Minnesota North

College Itasca and M State Wadena for a degree in Esthetician and Coaching.

Triple ‘A’ Award winners are selected through a multi-level process involving member schools of the League, the League’s administrative regions, and a special committee of educators, business leaders, and members from fine arts and athletic communities.

The next opportunity for driver's education will be March 2 - 13, 2026.  We need a minimum of 10 students to register in order for the course to run.  More information will be posted closer to the dates.
