Our Latest News

Yay! We received the Emergency Connectivity Funding we requested. If you are interested in getting a Verizon Hotspot from us, please contact Sheryl Johnson at 320-547-5104 or sjohnson@swanville.k12.mn.us. We requested monies to get 30 hotspots and service for a year. Those of you that already have one, your service will be covered for a year. We also can request more if there is a need but that will need to be done by end of day on Tuesday the 12th. Again, if interested please contact Sheryl at the school as soon as possible!

Due to the recent spike in positive COVID cases we will be implementing the following protocols effective today, 10-5-2021:

THIS WILL NOT CHANGE ANY EXISTING QUARANTINES, ONLY THOSE GOING FORWARD

  • Students with COVID related symptoms as stated on the MDH Decision Tree will be sent home, along with any household members. A negative COVID test will be required to be able to return.

    • If there is a positive test result within the household, the positive student/parent will complete a 10 day quarantine and other household members will be required to complete their quarantine AFTER that, not at the same time like we were currently doing. There are shortened quarantine options available:

    • Student may return after 7 days if a negative test is received (test must occur on day 5 or later)

    • Student may return after 10 days if asymptomatic without testing

  • Temperature screening will be done at all home Volleyball games for guests entering the building., If anyone has a temperature greater than 100.0, they will not be allowed to enter. We are not limiting the number of spectators at this time.

  • Please continue to monitor for symptoms at home and keep your children home when they are sick.

  • Masks on buses are still required per Federal Mandate; masks are not required currently while in school, but are recommended.

Lastly we want to again express our gratitude for the cooperation between our families and the district. Parents are doing the right thing by informing  us of illness, keeping kids home when sick, and getting tested. We appreciate all of this!
